A better question might be whether or not the ISP is tracking your every move online. At this point that would not be surprising in the least. Which websites you visit and who your communicating with via email. If you use a search engine like Google then all your searches are kept in a database as well. Most of the information is being tracked using your IP address.
What is an IP Address?
We’ll share the answer in non-technical terms. Think of an IP address like you would your home address. It serves the same purpose. A street address can be used to pinpoint the physical location. An IP address is used to track your presence online. It can be used to identify the related Internet connection. Your IP address certainly comes into play when ISP’s are tracking your downloads for copyright enforcement.
