SmartyDNS Offers Six Months Free

SmartyDNS is getting ready to launch their new smart DNS service.  Not to be confused with a VPN server.  SmartyDNS does not excrypt your connection.  Their goal is to help users access content in the United States or United Kingdom when outside those countries.  Allowing members to watch popular services like Netflix, Hulu, Spotify and BBC while outside of the country.  They are currently offering 1,000 free accounts.

When we visited the site this morning they still had 900 accounts left.  It looks like they already gave away 1,000 accounts and added 1,000 more.  All you need to do to qualify for six months of free access is sign up for their newsletter.  We signed up last week but haven’t received the set up details yet.  The service is set to launch later this summer.  We look forward to testing SmartyDNS and will share the experience.

When SmartyDNS launches later this summer they will offer a custom DNS service to help members access content in the US and UK.  If you need an encrypted connection for privacy then consider a VPN service.  If you would like access to a service like Netflix or BBC then a smart DNS service is a good option.  We’ve tested similar offerings from OverPlay, StrongDNS and ibVPN.  We look forward to testing out SmartyDNS soon.

If you don’t get in on a free account they plan to offer a 14 day free trial along with a 30 day money back guarantee.  SmartyDNS will be selling their service for $4.99 a month, $13.49 a quarter, $23.99 for 6 months or $41.99 a year.  They plan to launch later this summer.  We’ll keep watching and update this post when they go live.
