This year will mark the 135th US Open tennis tournament. The action will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows. The tournament always draws attention with the spotlight on the talented athletes competing in New York City for two weeks as fans celebrate the Labor Day holiday and enjoy the final weeks of summer. We’re excited to share that the US Open plans to live stream matches as they happen on their website. You can visit their US Open Live page for more details.
Since the tournament doesn’t officially start until Sunday there isn’t much information on the US Open Live site yet. Here’s the message they are currently displaying:
Watch US Open matches live as they happen and find your favorite star on one of tournament’s show courts, including Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium, the Grandstand and more.
We expect the free live stream to be limited to those in the United States. If you plan to be outside the USA during the tournament I would suggest using a VPN service. A good VPN will help you get around any geographic restrictions. Simply connect to a VPN server in the United States and enjoy the live streaming action on the US Open Live site. Find out whether or not Serena Williams can win her fourth straight US Open title and if Djokovic can win his third major of the year.
Which VPN service should you use? If you’re goal is to watch the US Open and perhaps other US streaming services like Netflix and Hulu then I suggest OverPlay. They include both VPN and SmartDNS service. You can use Smart DNS to watch channels in other regions without the overhead of encryption. Then connect to one of their VPN servers when you want to protect your online privacy and encrypt your data. Some other good choices include IPVanish and ExpressVPN. You can’t go wrong with any of those options.
